Alternative Healing V – Focus on Feelings

Please note: My most recent post should have been titled “Alternative Healing IV” instead of "Alternative Healing III,” but if I update the site Feedblitz will see the post as brand new content and mail the whole thing to subscribers again.

As I mentioned in an earlier post entitled “The Concept of Self-Healing,” based on my spiritual study over the years I’ve come to believe there is indeed a direct connection between unresolved emotions and physical dysfunction. One of the pioneers in this area is the author Louise Hay, whose book “You Can Heal Your Life” is one of the most popular self-help titles ever published. A second author who addressed this subject in significant detail is Karol K. Truman in her book "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die." In both of these books the authors identify the specific types of thoughts/emotional patterns that underlie all sorts of common (and not so common) diseases.

Because of my firm belief that unresolved (or unexpressed) emotions are truly at the root of all adult illnesses (and one could make the same case for childhood diseases other than genetic birth defects), I was convinced that my tooth/gum infection simply had to have an emotional element to it. The key challenge of course was to identify what particular emotion was behind the physical manifestation (i.e., the infection or abscess). Both the Hay and Truman books provided me with potential causes for the symptom, and I did apply the approaches recommended by both authors for resolving such issues (i.e., affirmations and a healing “script” respectively). Unfortunately, I didn’t actually “feel” any emotions coming to the surface to be cleared, nor did the condition improve any further.

One day while discussing this healing challenge with my friend Grant Connolly, founder of the ZPoint Process, I asked him if he knew of anyone who could assist me in releasing these underlying emotions. He quickly recommended that I contact a woman named Sandra Cisneros, who has exceptional intuitive and healing support skills. I took his advice and contacted her by phone the next day. We had a wonderful conversation during which she described herself as a “feelings facilitator.” In this role she helps people to “Focus on Feelings” as a means of moving through the limitations of resistance in all areas of their lives (including physical issues).

So what does that really mean? The following quote from a testimonial I wrote for her blog website best answers that question: “Suffice to say that Sandra has an uncanny ability to assist people in getting to the root of whatever issues they are experiencing, and help them to release the hidden feelings responsible for them. During my session I could literally feel the negative energy flowing out of my body as tears poured down my cheeks. Although I felt physically and emotionally exhausted at the close of the session, I also experienced a feeling of deep tranquility and peace.”

Each time I’ve had a session with Sandra I would experience similar results, and in some instances I’d literally be sobbing like a little child as the emotions poured out of me in waves. Moreover, in virtually every session parts of my body would begin moving involuntarily (I kid you not) as those emotions left. Now, does everyone else who works with Sandra have comparable results? Obviously I cannot answer that question; however, I can say this with complete confidence: if you are truly OPEN to actually feeling the feelings as they arise within you during the session, no matter what those feelings may be, then you’ll be able to release a whole lot of harmful energy stored in your body – energy that you didn’t even realize was there. The value of this is difficult to quantify, but one thing is certain, letting it go is without question much better for you than hanging on to it. So, will a “Focus on Feelings” session always result in a complete physical healing? Not necessarily, but from my experience I can confidently say that my dental infection did improve substantially. Looking back, if I could have just disciplined myself to stop paying so much attention to it (i.e., checking its status too often) it very well might have just disappeared in short order. This was not to be, because from what I know today quite clearly there was more I needed to learn about alternative healing. I’ll be talking about yet another healing modality in my next post. Bye for now.
